Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Therapy is a relationship. It unfolds in a safe space with the therapist as your guide.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a traditional “talk” therapy that involves conversations between client and therapist. It is a relational modality. It encourages open, authentic communication and trust that makes therapy possible. It is a road map for you to share your feelings and experiences and for us to examine them together. With support and guidance, you can understand the painful symptoms and problem behaviors you want to change.
We will start where you are, with what is bothering you most. You can examine your current roles and relationships, and your background. Through the work of building a strong relationship in therapy, you can learn about your attachment style and identify issues that cause difficulty in relating to others.
Research has shown that psychodynamic psychotherapy is highly effective in resolving symptoms and changing behavior. It is associated with lasting change because it gives you the tools to observe your own behavior and understand yourself.
